But the answer to your question is simple: S&M was peaking and the remix sales sent it #1. Under their current (at the time) rules it was fair game. After they decided to change the rules they couldn't go and snatch folks #1's away.

Same with the Gaga Born This Way situation... They had no choice but to count the album sales and learn to adapt to the changing the industry by saying " Gaga got us but this will never happen again."

The real #1 is Wildest Dreams and we all know that.

Bit early too judge, but I'd say 70% at the moment.

I'd say 30%... still 40M AI less on radio, only 30% lead on ITunes and no streaming increase because it's not on VEVO and TH streaming are higher ATM. IT will be close but I think TH got this this week, Drake was a little bit to late for this week, and not putting it on Vevo is a wrong move anyway.

TH will go down in streaming after the boost from the remix. HB will be at least even there, probably ahead.

Airplay gap will be 20M maybe 25M by the end of the week. 30% lead on iTunes would easily be enough if he holds that for the next 3 days.

Let's hope. It will be close anyway...

I agree that the chances for him going #1 at around 70%. The quicker he closes that airplay gap, the better. HB gained on TH by 2M, and it'll be more once TH starts to fall.

They do have a tendency to pick and choose when to change things though - like how including Youtube was only put in for white boy song Harlem Shake, rather than for non-white smash Gangnam Style.

HDD was really off this week
