Why is Halloween not celebrated in many countries?
While there are a few countries, namely the U.S., that go all out for celebrating the holiday with dedicating the whole month to stocking up on candy, costumes, and decorations, there are quite a few nations that barely even acknowledge the holiday's existence.
Why is this? I've often heard that it's because it's more of a "children's holiday," but here in the U.S., grown adults will still dress up, decorate, eat candy and throw Halloween parties, as well as partake in drinking and dancing instead of trick-or-treating. This is a very common custom, so it clearly can work for adults as well.
Any other reason it's not celebrated as much internationally?
