My take: If you're in a place in your life where you don't want to be tied down and having more than one sexual partner is making you happy, then so be it. But don't try to demand respect for your "open" relationships. Own being single, instead. The whole notion of an actual "relationship" with someone centers around commitment. So the minute you remove a sense of commitment, it's no longer an actual "relationship". Call it whatever you want, but open relationships are pretty much on par with friends with benefits, polygamy, and promiscuity. Which, is fine as long as you're not harming yourself or others, but don't try to validate your sexual habits by trying to completely redefine the "relationship" or scoffing at monogamy.
