Further more, there's are plenty of people outside of Janets can base who know she is a legend. It isn't rockets science. She hasn't been acknowledged by an entire industry and nominated I to the rock and roll hall of fame by being a nobody. She is. A trailblazer and her last name alone connects her to legacy.

Also Janets older catalogue falls under RNB. You aren't going to hear many of her hits on regular AC channels . It would be more the Urban AC. You don't hear her in a line up with madona, acdc, nirvana etc because only a few of her hits for that genre. Other than her song Black Cat or Love Will Never Do she didn't do Pop/Rock much in her prime. She was a crossover artist.

Probably because she's unfortunately very forgotten and is only known for her last name. Her most recent album was a non-factor outside of the US and she has no remembered songs.
