Okay, just watched her "Already Gone" performance. Holy ****ing ****. Argh Kelly, why do you do this to me?
Vocals - One of the best performances of that song I've heard. You could tell she was saving them on Jimmy's performance, and she 100% was commited for this. "I'm Already Gone, Already Gone, you can't make it feel right, when you know that it's wrong" easily the best part of the song, bar the bridge. **** it was awesome.
Arrangement - I loved the arrangement. It wasn't stripped as it has been in the past, and I liked that it had some body to it, although it didn't have its infamous drum beat. Loved how it kept the guitar plucks in the second verse, they easily make it, and I loved that it built power as it went along.
Kelly - ****ing wow. Her hair was so ****ing grouse. That dress - Kelly, THIS is what you should be wearing, not your $20 tops from target! It complimented your curves whilst looking like a million dollars... I don't think you could have looked any better tonight Kelly, I'm thoroughly impressed and kinda speechless.
When you've got vocals, style and an arrangement like that, you don't need to have a flashy performance; it would only ruin it, especially for a song like that. Kelly nailed it, I'm so proud of her.
I just get... excited sometimes. I've been waiting for this performance for a while and this is the best she's looked the whole era without any photoshopping.
Just watched her duet with Melissa Etheridge of "Bring Me Some Water". I really wish I had of been able to watch it live, or been there. Far out. Kelly seemed to love this, as this was a song she could do her wailing in, and sing with someone she admires. Their voices suited each other and the song, and it's simply rocked. You could tell they liked each other by the way they performed together, and that chemistry translated into a stunning performance.
And Kelly looked great in her "Rock Chick" outfit. I don't understand her style this era when she can easily have the same type of look, whilst looking presentable. Seriously needs to hire Diva's stylist.
Great night for Kelly. Off to watch other Diva's performances now. Kinda anticipating Leona's "Happy" and Jordin's "S.O.S".
Sheryl Crow looked pissed that she had to share the stage with Miley Cyrus. I loved that Paula did a medley of her songs in the beginning. I thought Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson,& Leona Lewis were the best last night. Melissa Etheridge always rocks
Miley's vocals sounded good when she performed with Sheryl Crow but "Party In The USA" was horrible. J-Hud's vocals were on point for both of her performances. I wasn't feeling her "Spotlight" performanc, though. It seemed like she didn't want to be there. Jordin sounded and looked great but she can't dance at all. Leona's vocals were amazing, as usual. I missed Kelly Clarkson's performance.
Paula's hosting was horrible. She made a fool of herself and her performance was obviously lipped.
Adele killed it!! She was excellent both by herself and in her duet with India.Arie.
Kelly, Leona, J-Hud, and Jordin were great, too... and all of the duets were fine (though Leona/Cyndi and Kelly/Melissa were especially outstanding!!!)
Miley was okay... Sheryl Crow can save any performance from failing, though.
Now, as for Paula, i was a huge fan of her choreography back in the day, when she was energetic and fast , when her moves her fast and fierce
cold hearted and stuff
even when she was choreographing for Janet :
but to tell the truth, she is so boring
her moves are so slow and probably she can't move fast anymore because of her back problem she talked about (several surgery for replacing her neck and spine etc) but anyway, now, she's just moving slow like an old lady
here ain't no stamina anymore
i'm highly dissapointed...
