There seems to be great debate on who fits the new crop of main pop girls on ATRL.

Popular names that are often mentioned: Ariana, Miley, Demi, Selena and Meghan.

However there is no new young black pop girl smashing alongside these other chicks.
Why is this? Is it that the industry is becoming more difficult/judgmental with young black female artists and are not being given chances or are the new crop just not cutting it like the Beyonce's Alicia's, Rihanna's etc?

Honorable mentions: Zendaya and Tinashe. (check out Tinashe's stuff. She's great.)

Labels aren't looking in the right places. Right now, they're signing kids with large social media followings in hoping of banking in on the fanbases they built themselves. Most of these kids happen to be your basic white suburban teenagers.

They're not actually going out to seek talent and develop artists like they did every other decade except this one.

Azealia needs to finally happen next year, Idc.

Her indie sounding stuff has been decent but she didn't really promote her EP that came out over the summer. I wish she stuck with dance for a little while longer. I would have loved a deep house record from her. (JoJo is working with MNEK on "Good Thing" and Wynter would have slayed it)
