Damon Albarn: 'Taylor Swift is remarkable, but not unique'
Quote:
He was speaking about a host of artists, and when asked what he thought about Kanye West, Albarn replied: "I think he's pretty unique."
Then he was asked his opinion on Swift, to which he replied: "Remarkable, but not unique."
He also spoke about Drake, saying he is "not as consistent as he could be".
Asked about Rihanna as well,Albarn joked: "Well, she's on the cover of NME, so she must be cool."
Elsewhere, the musician has confirmed that he is in the early stages of making a new Gorillaz album, which is currently "really fast" and has "quite a lot of energy".
This follows the confirmation by fellow Gorillaz man Jamie Hewlett that the virtual band will be back next year.
Idk, I'd kinda say Taylor is original. It's not like any other pop girl is both "safe" (as in she has a clean cut girl next door image) and actually writes their own music. She definitely has carved her own path and is doin just fine in her own lane

Her writing all her own material and melodies (most) is great. But the lyrical content doesn't have much depth, isn't particularly hard to write and very average vocalist
That quote is so right tho. Her success is something legendary but her music is nothing unique, it's the same Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry have been doing. There's nothing special about her performances, her videos, etc.
I feel her country music had depth and you guys needs remember she is still young with lots of room to grow. Now on to the OP I agree that she could be more unique with her material but being that she does write it makes her unique although Lana Del Rey does as well
