Bernie wining these polls with 60 - 80% doesn't feel suspect to some people? If he won the debate by such large and unrealistic margins, he should trounce HRC in the primaries from here on out, right? RIGHT?
Even in 2008, as big of a rock star as Obama was with increasing support throughout, he never won polls like that in such large margins. And his popularity at that time was a once in a lifetime type of thing to witness. I thought Bernie did okay last night. Did he win it? No. Did he lose? No. I think he sustained his position in the campaign trail, but has gotten the much needed media exposure. Exposure which he has desperately lacked throughout the primaries thus far.
Hillary was poised and looked very much so like a candidate that could take the general election, becoming our Commander and Chief. My biggest criticism of hers from the debate was the, 'first female president' and 'the biggest enemy = Republicans' parts. The first female president thing has been beaten into our brains already. WE GET IT ALREADY. I support it and am here for it, but I'm tired of HEARING about it constantly from her. It becomes annoying and she doesn't want to overdue it more so than she already has.. Let's tone it down with that and let the others do it for her. As for the Republicans comment, I could've really done without it. She should've left it with Healthcare Execs and Iranians, but she made the statements, otherwise putting a blemish on a great debate showing.
Chafee, was just a podium-filler in my mind.
Mr. Webb ain't nothing but a Reagan Republican infiltrator in the Democratic Party. He did okay, but was partaking in the wrong party debate.
O'Malley was stuck between good and okay for me. He had moments where I thought he could make a name for himself, but he didn't. As many pundits were saying, he missed an opportunity to infuse a punch into his campaign that he needs to become a real contender. I genuinely like the guy, but POTUS potential? I didn't get it from him. Definitely cabinet or VP potential. Ironically enough, I thought he was campaigning for the Vice President consideration than the actual Democratic Party Presidential Candidate. I could see him being in the running for HRC's VP selection, but Castro is the early-on favorite, who I'm a huge fan of.
Those who're looking for a new fusion to be inserted, after Hillary, I believe the Democratic Party will supply some fun and legitimate candidates down the road in 2020, but most likely 2024. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the debate. There was less talk on reality tv show type beef and more about the issues we care about.
