Yoko: John Lennon was bicurious
Quote:
Yoko Ono Reveals John Lennon Had A Desire For Sex With Men
It’s been almost 35 years since John Lennon was gunned down next to his apartment building in NYC in December 1980, but his legacy of music and activism will live forever.
His widow Yoko Ono has some fascinating things to say about John’s sexuality, which has long been discussed and whispered about. When it comes to John’s relationship with The Beatles gay manager Brian Epstein, and whether they hooked up, Yoko isn’t quite sure what may or may not have happened:
“Uh, well, the story I was told was a very explicit story, and from that I think they didn’t have it [sex],” Ono tells me. “But they went to Spain, and when they came back, tons of reporters were asking, ‘Did you do it, did you do it?’ So he said, ‘I did it.’ Isn’t that amazing? But of course he would say that. I’m sure Brian Epstein made a move, yeah.”
And Lennon said no to Epstein?
“He just didn’t want to do it, I think.”
When asked if John actually did have sex with other men, Yoko reveals “I think he had a desire to, but I think he was too inhibited,” and then goes further, saying “No, not inhibited. He said, ‘I don’t mind if there’s an incredibly attractive guy.’ It’s very difficult: They would have to be not just physically attractive, but mentally very advanced too. And you can’t find people like that.”
When asked again if John had sex with other men, she replies “No, I don’t think so,” says Ono. “The beginning of the year he was killed, he said to me, I could have done it, but I can’t because I just never found somebody that was that attractive.’ Both John and I were into attractiveness—you know—beauty.”
