I have a debit card and a credit card. Basically I always make sure I have at least $200 in my debit so that I can pay off my credit card every month, which i pay at least $50 (minimum is $25).
That's not the best way to go. If you really need extra money for something, ask for it in a bank or something, don't get your card with negative number becuase the interest you must pay is way higher.
As a rule of thumb, money management or severe financial issues within a person is always a red flag for more serious issues.
The American culture is almost centered around the concept of credit. Some people are argumenting their base income with credit and bragging about what they supposedly "own".
I like having a credit card cuz I get points and make some of the money back. Also helps that I pay off each statement every month in full or almost full.
They mean safer when it comes to having your card stolen Or hacked into.
Eh. That really depends on your bank. I'm wit BOA. My debit card was stolen a couple of times before, and every time I was able to get my money back. They even gave me extra credit after reporting it.
I hate the concept of credit cards, I only have one which I use every now and then just for the optics (and I pay it off almost immediately which is why I have great credit scores)
I'm a huge believer in debit and/or making purchases outright in cash.
If you can't afford something outright I don't think you should be buying it.
Don't like loans, skeptical of mortgages (unless it's an investment that'll pay off itself pretty quickly). Just. Save.
This summer i went £1500 deep into my overdraft thank god for student loans that snatched me back out of it but it means i cant do much till my next one comes in
