I think it's going to be for sure cancelled at the end of season one, but what if they got renewed? What do you think the producers can do to fix it if it were to get renewed for a new season?
I remember being so excited for this, the hype was really big, there were tons of billboards for it all over LA...
Then I actually watched it..... the disappointment was REAL. One of the worst shows I've ever seen, and Emma Roberts character is the definition of cringeworthy
They spent to much time and money trying to get the broadest possible audience for a show that in reality only appeals to a niche portion of a young demographic that doesn't watch tv on tv anymore.
Like it isn't family friendly and your average person over 30 isn't going to find it vaguely entertaining. Shows want to reach the 18-49 demo, but SQ hits more in the 13-25 range. And even within that demo it really only appeals to gays and women. They built it up to be the next hit like Empire, but Empire has a vastly wider demo appeal.
I'm enjoying it as something kind of different that is on (although it isn't even vaguely as revolutionary as the ATRL stans want people to think), but its ratings are indicative of the quality. The dialogue is stilted and the pacing is atrocious. It deserves to be a fun blip on television that lasts a season (and maybe a mercy season 2 on another network or streaming), but nothing more than that. And it isn't clever enough to become a cult hit (which is what I think Ryan Murphy actually wants from it) because it is going to age so poorly.
