Should Baja California and Toronto join the U.S as new states?

I grew up in Tijuana as a child and it's culturally part of Mexico, Mexicans live there, Spanish is spoken etc. Why would it join the US?

I mean, maybe Alberta or Manitoba....but Toronto?

I mean, OP, it's like saying: should the Edirne province of Turkey be a part of Greece? Geographically it would make more sense, but the people in Edirne wouldn't be there for it.

Wait you actually mean Ontario or Toronto only? Do you mean the whole Baja California peninsula, the Nothern part, or just Tijuana?

If this happens than kiss Toronto prosperity goodbye. What keeps Toronto alive, exciting and doing well is that is far southern city for Canadians to enjoy and live. If it becomes part of the USA, Canadians will be moving down south for USA cities with better weather. It will be like Chicago, where the center is prosperous and then you have abandonment and decline in many neighborhoods. Or worse case it may become a Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo etc.
