LMAO, I know it was pre-recorded. But besides the fact that it was a lame excuse for her to not even attend the event, her sister Jamie Lynn used Twitter to congratulate Britney on winning the Best Pop moonman and then said "call me when you finish your show".

I have absolutely no idea, I don't own a twitter account cause I think it's pretty idiotic to have one if you're not some kind of celebrity or is a company, newspaper, magazine etc. It's just what I read.
Still, it was a silly excuse. Britney had no show that day, she has private planes and she was highly nominated. She should have been there.

Stupid thought, but I truly think she's still haunted by 2007. I mean, why do you think she keeps releasing lead singles at the end of September when she perfectly well could debut them at the VMA's. She's still terrified of getting on that stage again. I'm sure of it.
