In the upcoming eighth season of "Real Housewives of New York," Bethenny Frankel is reportedly not only a show star, but has also taken on the role of series producer.
With filming on the new season set to kick off early next week, the New York Daily News reports some are insisting the Skinnygirl mogul is already in rare form. "She is acting as a producer and if she doesn't like you, you're off the show," a source said. "You saw what happened with Kristen [Taekman] and Heather [Thomson]. Bye-bye, see you later. She didn't like them."
Word is Frankel is also regularly conspiring with series creator Andy Cohen to make certain she comes across a certain way in her many scenes. Reports are her segments are highly controlled, especially scenes like her therapy sessions, in which Frankel decides what parts of the discussions with her doctor get on the air.
Reportedly, Bravo network officials regularly use focus groups to gauge how cast members and potential scenes are perceived. Frankel wanted to change the "unapproachable" image she had become tagged with. Frankel is slated to make $1.5 million this season, a significant raise on the $1 million she pocketed during Season 7. As for new season plot lines, reports are producers are looking to raise the overall depth and quality of the show this time around.
"They have asked the girls not to be disorderly in public, not only during filming, but off-camera too," a source said. "Some of them have been known to get drunk and be carried home. They don't want it anymore." The new season is also slated to star LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer. Frankel returned to the show last season after missing the previous three years pursuing other interests.

So it's going to be The Bethenny Show again? Guess Bravo didn't learn from season 7.
All the fans loved season 7, mostly because of Bethenny. Not only is she the fan favourite but she knows whats good for the show, and has helped with casting in production when she was off the show (she casted Aviva).
No surprise they gave her even more power this year.
Its grossly unfair to give producer priviliges to certain housewives it is blatant favoritism and gives too much power to them. It breeds resentments like in Married to meds with Mariah.
Bethenny didnt even bring great ratings its still near Miami numbers. Its only survived cause its Andys hometown show so its pretty much safe no matter what.
