She needed it because her acting career was not doing well before, she was quitting music for a time but the movies she made in 2012-2014 were not doing well, so she came back to music, because her fans were here for it, kind of what happened with Miley, miley is not a good actress but when CTB flopped she was angry about it and thought she could make a career making movies and completely underperformed with it so she came back with music, but the thing is Miley can actually sing meanwhile Selena can't.
This is why she has been avoiding performing the song, she can't sing it, I don't know how she will sing Revival if she can't sing this mess
