My own personal suggestions for Warriors Orochi 4:
The Cast
This will include the cast for DW8:E and SW4:II/E, alongside all the NON-Guest characters up to WO3:U. 5 new characters are added; the other 3 fiends associated with Hundun, a new mystic who will play a main role (
and become boyfriends with Taigong Wang) and another mystic who will be the most powerful / wise of them all. If KT were against removing the Guest characters, they could either be unlocked by completing each story or in a separate mode (Destiny Mode from DW5xL k thanks)
The Story Mode
The story mode will all take place under "Story Mode". There will be 12 "chapters". Each chapter's events happen at roughly the same time. The battles are split by rows with eight factions: Wei, Wu, Shu, Jin, Oda, Sanada, Mystic and Orochi. All the battles in one chapter must be completed until the next chapter is opened. Each of the 8 factions will have between 5 and 8 battles over the course of twelve chapters.
The Gameplay
Each faction starts with 4 characters. This is because I would intend to change the 3 characters to 4 (and have it play out like Samurai Warriors 4 in that sense). These can be changed via the Dpad. Each character unlocked in story mode can only be used in the faction it is unlocked in, e.g. a character unlocked in Wei cannot be used in a Wu battle. However this can be done in free mode.

CHAPTER ONE
Chapter One just has the one battle as something needs to happen before the main story continues. A new villain (one of the four fiends) appears and causes a small rift in the mystical prison allowing Da Ji and Himiko to escape. While back in the human realm, they come across Hisahide Matsunaga at Honnoji and plot against Nobunaga. But is Nobunaga Oda one step ahead, once again?

CHAPTER TWO
After capturing Nobunaga and enslaving most of the Oda clan and the Wei reinforcements after Cao Pi's disappearance, the Orochi army revive Kiyomori and set their sights on Chengdu. By brainwashing Liu Shan and Xing Cai, the Orochi army are able to gain an advantage. Meanwhile in the Mystic Realm, Taigong Wang and the newest in a long line of mystics are attacked by demons.

CHAPTER THREE
With Liu Shan brainwashed, Zhuge Liang and many Shu retainers imprisoned and Zhao Yun slain during the battle of Chengdu, Da Ji and Tamamo move to take Odawara castle and recruit more allies. The Mystic army join up with some mercenaries and attack Da Ji while her army is away fighting. The Shu and Oda forces are then attacked by the demon armies.

CHAPTER FOUR
Now with more allies fighting for their cause, the demons strike at Kawanakajima where two tigers, a lion and a dragon are stationed. After capturing Sima Yi, Sima Zhao is now sent to fight on Da Ji's behalf and recruit the Date. The Wei army are now attacked by their former comrade; Jia Xu.

CHAPTER FIVE
Orochi had been revived... unfortunately a shell of his former self. Da Ji and Tamamo searched for a way to bring him back to his powerful form. In the meantime, Sima Zhao was sent on more missions and given back one Wei retainer for each successful one. After losing their lords at Kawanakajima, the Wu and Sanada clans tried to escape from the prisons that bound them.

CHAPTER SIX
While at Luoyang, the Wei army rescued Diaochan, much to the thanks of Lu Bu. The Wei army now continues pursuing Dong Zhuo. Meanwhile the Sanada clan had a lucky escape at Numata Castle with Tadakatsu Honda showing up to their aid and helping them to escape. They were also able to free Lu Meng from his imprisonment. The Sanada and Wu armies now look to free their old friends.

CHAPTER SEVEN
Now with more friends free, the Wu and Shu armies continue raising their forces across the land. Yukimura is forced to fight even more friends who are under coercion from the Orochi army. Guan Ping arrives at the Oda main camp and lets them know of the events at Chengdu. Hideyoshi makes a bold move and leads the Oda troops to rescue the Shu retainers.

CHAPTER EIGHT
Not long remains for the resistance to make their move. After rescuing Lu Bu's strategist, Chen Gong, the Wei army once again pursued Dong Zhuo. The Shu army headed south to recruit the Nanman King to their forces. The Wu and Sanada armies continued rescuing their comrades. It was then that a group of mercenaries, led by Magoichi Saika, approached by the Oda camp after fleeing from Oshi Castle and informed them that Mitsuhide Akechi would be put to death by Da Ji for conspiring against her. The Oda army set out to rescue Mitsuhide at Komaki-Nagakute.

CHAPTER NINE
Chapter Eight was a mix of great fortune and unfortunate disaster. The Oda army arrived too late to save Mitsuhide but were able to save Ranmaru Mori with the help of Takakage Kobayakawa. The Wei army saved Lu Bu's daughter and Lu Bu finally had enough. Alone, he charged into Dong Zhuo's camp but was struck by an archer ambush and felled. The mighty Lu Bu had fallen. Tamamo had finally discovered what the demons needed to do to bring back Orochi and attacked Itsukishima with the hopes of capturing a certain mystic...

CHAPTER TEN
Da Ji had captured Shuten Doji and Kaguya and used their powers to go back in time. Little did they know, Kaguya had put everyone back in time, and for only a short while. Da Ji set to work on finding the object needed to revive Orochi's full potential, and Tamamo went on a little hunting expedition of her own. The other factions looked for ways to revive their fallen allies.

Chapter Eleven
Back in the current time, all of their allies had been rescued. The various resistance forces continued on their path. The Mystic army and the Orochi army fought in the mystic realm. Meanwhile Jia Xu, Kanbei and Sima Zhao rebelled.

Through unlikely alliances and friends, all of the resistance officers were saved. The battle in the mystic realm drew to a stalemate and they agreed to settle the score at Koshi castle. The Orochi army was able to finally summon Hundun, and the Mystic army had to resort to awakening the most powerful mystic to ever roam this realm. The final battle was about to begin...
