How much money do you think you need or want for retirement?

Well in Australia the employer pays an additional 10% of whatever you earn each pay day into your superannuation. I suppose whatever is in there? I'll probably have around 1.7 million.

i won't settle for anything less than £100million!

I want to retire with 1 million in my bank.

But that will already happen when I inherit my moms cash and her land.

So I guess I want 2-3 million when I retire.

You might retire in like 50 years. Add inflation and you might end near a million or at least half a million.

If you have a million and retire at 60 but live till you're 80 that's 50k a year. Not sure if that's good.

So maybe more than a million.

Hopefully at least 500k

Well say you retire at 65 and you die at 85. That's 20 years.....with spending of about 60k per year (USD). So you'd need 1.2 million....but then inflation happens etc. I don't know

500k will be eaten up so fast.

This is hard because you don't know your situation when you're old. Like if you live in a city that will go by fast. If you have a house but have not finished your mortgage it will go by quick too. Plus 500k could be like 100k in the future.

And let's pray SS is not eaten up by retirement age.
