Okay, so I looked out my old Dell, and I'm super tempted to go ahead and buy this. Before I do - can someone give me a rundown on how to like successfully play it? Like making own artists/having them be successful/etc. like I had the demo for MWR1, but I always went bankrupt making my own label, am I better playing a pre-made label? Help!

INA
Heartbroken Era
Too Late (Buzz Single - January 13, 2014) | #168 USA | 425,000 (200,000 shipped)
So Far Away (Soundtrack / Buzz Single - July 28, 2014) | #8 USA | 1,096,000 (400,000 shipped)
Break Away (Lead Single - February 16, 2015) | #1 USA (2 Weeks) | 2,958,000 (1,000,000 shipped)
Gentle of Heart (2nd Single - October 12, 2015) | #1 USA (7 Weeks) | 2,678,000 (800,000 shipped)
Heartbroken (3rd Single - March 14, 2016) | #3 USA | 1,411,000 (800,000 shipped - 692,000 sold)
Take a Bow (4th Single - July 18, 2016) | #1 USA (10 Weeks) | 1,603,000 (650,000 shipped)
Heartbroken (Album - May 18, 2015) | #1 USA (*) | 1,918,000 (800,000 shipped)
All of Ina's shipments sold out with the exception of Heartbroken single. It debuted at #5 and then plummeted until Take a Bow went #1 which boosted it back up to #3. IDK how many weeks Ina's album was #1 for, I think maybe just the first.
Hands in the Air, the upcoming lead single for Ina's 2nd studio album, is hitting retailers on January 16, 2017.

It's more challenging when you start your own label but I usually go with pre-made labels.

You're better playing a pre-made label or make your own in the editor because cash is what really holds you back. If you go bankrupt, you're ****ed. If you want to have success, PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE! Tour if you need extra cash. Quality DOES affect sales so record everything Laissez Faire. You can record various "themes" for an album release too by using the same working title. If you do that, your album might sell through various times of the year.
If you're starting off new and scouting talent which is what I just did, find someone decent with good Songwriting capabilities. Have her write alone and have a good but cheap producer. Then just TOUR forever at small / tiny clubs until you're decently high in %. When your artist is decent, then keep promoting them. Just do NOT click "Heavy marketing campaigns" or anything remotely close if you start fresh coz you'll go bankrupt. I've done word of mouth for my buzz singles, average promo for my regular singles, and now that I have $22m after recording (I started with $10m), my 2nd album lead single will have above-average promo.

Thanks for the advice! Is it harder to branch an artist out globally too? So if I have them based in the US, is it normally a pain having them be successful in the UK?

Not when my singles only had average promo, and my album only had some local appearances.

Yes, I find that to be the case. I mean, if you're starting fresh and just using one artist you probably won't be able to release WW anyway. Even with Ina smashing, I'm only 20% on my label reputation so I can only release in the US. If you're doing pre-made or choosing one from the editor, then yes an artist is most likely going to be most successful in their own country. the USA is the way to go. The UK is really really minimal.

You can make your own acts, right? I was literally just about to buy and the first thing I wanted to do was make myself, and see how successful I can become. Is it possible?

Yes. In the editor beforehand. During the game you can only scout for new talent and then change their stage name.

I used to do that but Antûan put the limit at 8 songs but before I used to record 5 songs each theme
