You're only saying that 'cause Britney was at the center of attention those years. Rico, sometimes your remarks are downright repulsive. Most things can be disputed, but to claim the 2007 VMA was better than this year's is just a complete lie. Just block out the "Gimme More" performance for a moment and think about the rest of the show. It was lousy...it was more like we were watching the after-party and not the show itself.
The performances this year were great and all of the presenters, hosts, and performers actually put on a show for viewers and not just a smug, alcohol-binged, ego-stroke-fest. The MJ tribute should have been enough to win you over.
UM. Don't tell me why I like something or not, Bobby. I'm sorry I missed the MJ tribute opening due to playing volleyball with some friends, going over the time I planned. I'll throw away my social life to run and make you proud next time.
Anyways, I still have yet to find an HQ video to critique it. Obviously I'm a huge Michael fan and would have commented on it had I seen it and planned to return with a full overview of it when I saw. Secondly, Britney has nothing to do with this. God, I really dislike you as of lately with this noob ********. I have been settled with the fact she would not be there at all for the last 2 weeks, only posting here about it with very little hope. I'm very proud she simply won Best Pop Video and will continue on her tour. That's has been my top priority.
I hated the band performances with Wale and others going out to commercial break. Russell was not as funny as last year. The performances were not up to par in my opinion, only Gaga and Beyonce being of interest from what I saw, and from the looks of the other performances on Youtube...the only performances worth watching. Taylor's was dry and boring, though I love the song. It just wasn't my cup of tea. There was so much more that could have been added to this show, but MTV still found a way to let it go. 2007 was still exciting for me as far as, OBVIOUSLY, Britney performing and 2008 was better for once again Britney winning/opening and the performances I enjoyed more. I still would rather watch Leona/Lil Wayne, T.I., Katy, P!nk, and A LOT more from last year than this year at all.
Will this validate my opinion or will you come at me some more?

If you didn't watch the entire awards show then why didn't you hold your comments until you did? And I never told you what to like or not like, but saying the 2007 VMA's were better as if it was a fact is just a complete and utter falsehood.
Also, the performances going in and out of commercials is something they've been doing for the last two years, except it was more obnoxious in '07 when the commercials cut into the performances of A-listers like Rihanna and Fall-Out Boy. This year we had fairly unknown newcomers so it wasn't as much of a letdown when the commercials cut in. Plus, I hated The Palms and Kanye's performance of "Good Life" looked like more fun to perform than it was to watch.
Lastly, as much as I love you, I know a lot of your comments are motivated in one form or another by your love for Britney, whether you recognize it or not. It doesn't mean I respect your opinion any less but it doesn't mean I'm not going to call you on it when it interferes with your better judgment. If that makes me a noob, so be it.

Well you cut out the part where I youtubed the remaining performances after Muse and did not enjoy any of them besides maybe P!nk, but "Sober" gets on my nerves now so it wasn't as interesting for me. It was the only one I watched throughout the performance without skipping through.
But, I won't even argue with you. It's not worth it. I'm totally wrong for thinking what I think, so you'll never shut the hell up about it or end it with a smart-ass comment. You're telling me how I am judging these shows, telling me my opinions are basically wrong, and that I HAD to love this show due to what you believe. I won't sit through it.
Simple as this, the show missed a lot of perfect opportunities that could have upgraded the show by far but that's my opinion. Britney has nothing to do with it. I knew she was not coming, and am glad for her win. But you can believe what you want. I told myself I wouldn't bother with noobs who tore down my opinion due to my favorite artist(s), so fly away.

No, you can like, hate, and prefer anything you want to, I just don't like when you make your opinions sound like matters of fact.
And forgive me for thinking the Britney-VMA thing with you is more than just a coincidence. I've only read thousands of your posts.
MTV has several different articles regarding Beyonce.
Quote:
"You know, they told me to be ready just in case she might want to say something," Swift explained. "It was just so wonderful and so incredibly classy of her and just gracious and wonderful to let me say something. She's just been my hero and one of my idols ever since I was little. She's a great person."
Kanye later apologized on his blog for the interruption, saying, "I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom."
Beyoncé didn't go home empty-handed, either. She got hers when it was time for Video of the Year, as "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" danced into the winner's circle. "This is amazing," said B, recalling her first VMA nomination at 17 with Destiny's Child. "It was one of the most exciting moments in my life, so I'd like for Taylor to come out and have her moment," she added, in one of the classiest moments in VMA history. Accepting a big hug from B, a beaming Swift joked, "Maybe we could try this again," thanking all her fans for their support.
In a classy display of selflessness, Taylor Swift got a do-over at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Beyoncé brought the teen singer up following B's Video of the Year win.
Beyoncé told the audience about her first VMA win as a 17-year-old with Destiny's Child and how much it meant to her. The singer then called Swift from backstage to huge applause.
