People go out with other people. Even if you're a male, it's not normal to go outside alone and definitely not in poor areas (which is most places). As for "acceptance" of those things, I'm not sure if that's the right word unless you mean no one does anything about it.

They're saying these **** searches have an unusually high amount of traffic compared to other searches in India. Yes, those searches are made in every country, but in India, they're the most popular searches.
And I believe that is what was meant. There's nothing wrong with admitting your country has flaws. Every country should be focused on women's rights, not just India
