Now this isn't a receipts thread, so feel free to add anything in the comments, I don't really keep up with all of it. But let's take a look at the REVIVAL era so far:
1) Beautiful, iconic cover
2) Good for You: debuted at top #9 on Billboard (top 10 right off the bat, not everyone gets one of those), biggest female debut of the year so far, and her first iTunes #1.
1 million in pure sales, her first top 5 on billboard, and slayed WW too in markets she had yet to make impact on (Plat in Australia). Oh, and #1 on pop radio for 3 weeks.
Simple video, featuring nothing but her vocals (a big F you to everyone that comes for her singing) and no PROMO or live performances till after the slayage
3) Pantene slayage
4) Gorgeous covers
5) Slaying her performances. I mean her aura and image this era>>>
6) NOT to mention the quality of her new album Good For You almost top 10 on iTunes still (combined) MONTHS after release, and SOL sitting pretty at the top 10 on iTunes, rising on both radio and spotify.
>Serving so much confidence and honesty in her interviews, iPhone commercial, and even more is coming.
Are you loving the Revival era? Because I am, she has slayed me in every way possible and I'm stanning SO hard
Yes, she's come SO far and I'm so incredibly proud of her
So far this era she's already scored her first top 5 hit, her first HDS #1, her first multi-week #1 on pop radio and now her album is already doing so well and the second single is in the iTunes top 10/ Spotify top 15 already
The Revival era has been amazing so far and I'm just so happy that she released such a perfect album
tbqh yes. I'm not overtly fond of the music she has put out. Good For YOu & Same Old are bops, but the album kinda lacked something for me. She doesn't do anything revolutionary, but she manages to reinvent her image in a way. Good For You was a big hit and she looks and sounds more and more like a main pop girl, instead of a disney product.
I can see Selena's true zeitgeist moment coming in the future.
Let's not, we all know Ke$ha is going through tough moments. Stay on topic.
OT: She's doing amazing. Let's wait until the first week sales come through though
