Unconditionally would've went top ten if Capitol/Katy weren't so cocky and actually let people buy the song rather than holding sales back for a week. It might've lost all its sales when "Complete My Album" was hit the week after, but her streak still would've been 2 singles longer, and who knows, Top 10 exposure might've encouraged more sales.
Uncle had lots of problems. Not a strong enough song, overshadowed by Dark Horse, lost in the mix with Walking On Air, released too close to PRISM, "pretty" boring and unremarkable video etc.
If any of those things had changed it could have been a cute #7 hit or something.

The excuses. Unconditionally had a massive promo. It was never meant to be a Top 10 hit.
No excuses, it's a terrible song that should've been about the 15th choice as single from Prism, but it was screwed over from a higher peak by it not being available to purchase until after the album came out. At that point people who would've ran to buy it first week already had the album.
It's the only song I skip on both the original and the acoustic Prisms.

Perfect era Birthday is good but could have worked better as a cute promo single. One from the first half (Birthday, since the rest is going to be released anyway) and one from the second one (Love Me/This Moment) and you get a TD era with a more different sound.
I'm with Starstruck. It's so tired. We can't do anything and nobody knows what would have smashed and what wouldn't. People still insisting Birthday was a good single choice is proof of that.
