Some of you obviously don't have good business acumen. All they are doing is protecting their brand which is marketing 101.
It doesn't matter how big or small the business is, the business in question is projecting certain imagery of these pop stars without their permission which might affect their personal brand. They can't risk that and no intellectually heightened individual would. Furthermore, it will also be against their contracts with brands they are legally endorsing meaning that it could affect their contractual obligations, leading to those businesses suing the artists. Beyoncé doesn't need a Pepsi lawsuit on her hands, for instance (assuming she is still with them - the principle still counts).
