I guess this was part of the Vanity Fair thing where he was trying to convince the people that Apple was saving the world from free music.

There might be some truth in what he says, but technology leads media and Jimmy Iovine appears to be clinging to a business model from a previous age and is likely to be inept at both media and tech.
Perhaps we would be more impressed if we could see the streaming numbers for Apple Music, like we can with YouTube and Spoitify.
