VMA Side Story [Full] {Cobra; Ne-Yo; Perry; Brand; Swift}
I don't think this has been posted yet, do here you go.
Promotion for MTV's 2009 Video Music Awards that continuously is airing on channel 115 on DirecTV, featuring, in order of appearance, Cobra Starship, Ne-Yo, Katy Perry, Russel Brand, and Taylor Swift.
They're going all out on this West Side Story theme, aren't they? But this is so cool! Whenever I want to watch I can just tune in and voila, there it is!
I must say, the final product (all of them put together) was very enjoyable, despite the fact that each part was underwhelming individually. Cobra Starship's part really doesn't sound like music (save maybe for Leighton Meester's part); Ne-Yo was just blah (not bad but nothing spectacular or memorable); Taylor Swift was not bad, but she really seemed to be over-singing the entire bit; and Katy Perry's voice was SO shaky (though her acting was good and the music accompanying her part was enjoyable). The only individual part that was good, in my opinion, is Russell Brand's: The singing's decent; the lyrics are funny; and while you might say he's over-acting, he's at least putting an effort into it.
Together, though, the scenes were REALLY enjoyable to watch and listen to. It's as if there's something missing in every individual part that the others complement once put together.
