If Ryan keeps this up this could be the season that gets better with time. I personally loved the opening, but it has this vibe of something you watch when you're home sick from work or school...and suddenly you become immersed in this B side 80s gore fest.
Hoping Ryan can stick to this..otherwise...But I am actually counting on this season sucking. The opening episode surprised me, but Ryan can be a bit of a mess. I am glad Scream Queens is an outlet for his messy gay ideas.

If this was the highest rated AHS season would the monsters be saying "This has nothing to do with Gaga, but the show overall" or would they be saying "Critical darling", "Queen of ratings", etc etc?

I would be, but I'm not a Monster. Tho tbh I'd be worried if it was high rated after Coven and FS.
While Gaga is one of my fav characters, I liked more than her like 6-7 minutes of screentime

I'd say it was overrated!
The episode was a nice intro but it lacked in places. I said this before I even read the critics.
I'm not however accepting fault on Gaga's part when she's 5% of the show.
What about the rest of the cast? Bad acting too? How's everyone still interested after 4 seasons?
No logic.

Yeah I agree with these scores, the first episode was just terrible and all over the place. A meaningless over the top mess. And the acting wasn't very good, Jessica needs to make a cameo and show them how it's done.

Did it flop? I have no idea if these numbers are high/low for US viewers. Enlighten me.
Plus Scream Queens bounced back the following day, no? People often stream the series or download them the next day, especially in non-US countries.

oh my damn god, when are people going to realise, the children just dont sit and watch TV nowadays theyll either stream it or wait til the next day. Like i haven't watched a TV in like a year, I just dont see what the point is if i can get everything on my laptop

I agree, Queen Jessica needs to return.
Gaga's acting was atrocious in my opinion This might up end up being the one of the worst seasons.
