This is what I was thinking. That, or it's completely unrelated. If the latter, the timing is extremely coincidental. (Shane could also just be stirring the pot for RTs, but that'd make him a huge hypocrite, so I doubt it's that.)

Dead @ the anger in this thread. Many YouTubers do more to be worthy of being famous than many reality TV show personalities (The Kardashians, Paris Hilton, "New York", etc.), yet people on here don't seem to even think about it because they're spoon fed said personalities by the media - the same media that actively tries to make internet personalities look "inferior"...and judging by this thread it's working.

There are a lot of talented people who use YouTube as their medium and it's sad that people completely discredit them because they think YouTube is just bloggers and cat videos. (YouTube is great when talking about my faves MV views though!!!!)

#1. You people are stupid to think Shane "look at me!" Dawson is insinuating the Bartayley's had anything to do with Caleb's death or that there might be something "sinister" behind it.This is something more self-centered and vain like how a younger, new, big youtuber did something rude, like ignore Shane Dawson or did something narcissistic and egotistical like that. If anybody follows Shane's podcast, you would know he has a problem with the new youtubers and he believes they're "selling their souls" for youtube fame.

#2. A memorial service is different from a funeral. The family and friends of Caleb shared their memories and thoughts about Caleb, and there was no sign of a casket being there, so there's nothing wrong with that. I'm sure the funeral will be private, if it hadn't happen already.

#3. Caleb's parents loved him and his sisters dearly as seen in their videos, so to insinuate they had anything to do with his death preposterous and stupid. The family shared that they have a long history of heart disease in the family, and that could be what Caleb had died from.

Stop the nonsense.

Are you serious? TV and Youtube are totally different. And that is why people like Shane Dawson are on Youtube and not on TV. It's hard to translate Youtube views into TV views due to locals and stuff. The humor and everything is totally different. These people are Youtube stars, but they aren't celebrities. They aren't even famous. My grand has no idea what a Tyler Oakley is and probably never will. If Youtube dies, they will too.

Tyler Oakley makes more than a million a year definite.

Youtube celebrities are on the same level as C-List celebs right now. Either grow with the times or get stuck behind.

They have fans, make lots of money (more than you would think), collaborate with other "famous" people (not just youtubers), sell merchandise, have gossip and lies spread about them, get reported on for their drama at times, receive awards on television. Seems pretty famous to me.
