If Marxism was in effect, people would be talking about real race issues and class division during an election. Instead, the only race issues Nicki Minaj is using her platform to discuss is the VMA she wanted (which Beyoncé, a black woman, was nominated for) and one white girl twerking two years ago. Nicki backed down to Taylor Swift when she was given an opportunity to promote herself. This is all about her brand. Don't kid yourself into believing this is a radical political shift. in the realm of celebrity is en vogue now, but institutionalized racism goes deeper than one insanely rich artist being butthurt over an award. And as soon as this blows over, Nicki will be back to selling fragrances and albums and doing absolutely nothing for all the marginalized people that used to live exactly as she did. She's a sell-out. And Lorde is one to talk considering how Royals was received when it was released.
