I'm sure you've heard of Lloyds Banking Group?
They own Bank of Scotland and Halifax too. I believe it was in 1995 that Lloyds Bank and TSB merged together as one. In September 2013, Lloyds and TSB separated after a decision by the UK government that they were gaining too much of a monopoly. All of the Lloyds branches in Scotland went to TSB. Most of them in England went to Lloyds, but some were kept as TSB branches. Luckily Bank of Scotland will do transactions for Lloyds Bank customers in Scotland.
