Yeah, that's what they say, which is totally untrue since unlike some of these "gay icons" and literally 80% of the male stars, he has never said a bad word about the gay community, not even when he was young, he grew up in the Broadway community so he's always been supportive because of that.
That being said, I still don't get what's so wrong about "gay pandering" if it's not hurting them in any way or form. Even if he was doing it just for sales, then it's not hurting them or the gay community at all so there's no valid reason to complain.
And like you said, there's nothing wrong about these pictures
