Glad at least one person has my back. I don't mean any harm from what I'm saying. I'm just stating a point that the problem starts within my race. If the ones making all blacks look bad wise up and stop posting blame on education and living conditions then life can universally get better since the media won't have as much to exploit. I know there's still going to have racism but there's no better payback then kindness. We live in a really damaged world and it's only getting worst, I'm sorry many people don't understand my point but it is what it is.
I think what people can argue against you is that you simply can't put the blame on Black people. You have to acknowledge all the various factors pitted against Black people in the first place in order to realize today's current situations. I read an excellent reading in my Education class and it went something along the lines of "Its not that race causes inferior status, but inferior status is caused by lower status" or something like that. So its not the race we should really be focusing on but why are things like today and how we can change those things

True, I don't mean to be offensive in what I said. Yes the race is harmed by nutrition, education, and status but in order to change that you will need someone to go I and clean up all the poisonous food low class eat and better jobs to live more fulfilling, but it's hard when the race is on a downward spiral which is definitely caused by those in charge wanting to extinct blacks. I'm not ignorant to none of this, trust me. But I've seen teachers(white) come from northern states to teach down south and the kids give them nothing but a hard time, they even smoked weed in the middle of class one time. It's going to be hard because it's kinda at a point of no return for some.
How don't you fit the norm? There are millions of ****** who got educated and are successful. Love how you made this entire thing about you. The entirety of your post had nothing to do with this topic.
Absolute mess, made topic about himself and is now supposedly a victim-- goodbye.

You might be educated, but you also appear confused-- which is typically common among African Americans who are supposedly successful. You've seen the good and bad, but because you've supposedly made it to the other side you think it's easy for everyone else but that's not the case.
In America, young African Americans, like the kid in the picture, are often victimized and negatively brained-washed before they get a chance to developed. Therefore, the typical strife that exist between blacks and whites has an origin. Given that blacks have little to no political and social power, it is nearly impossible to elicit change. Martin and Malcolm tried, Rosa and Tubman too, but unless society wants to change as well as those in power.
I am not African American but I am greatly informed about issues that affect black communities -- educated yourself beyond NO and then let's talk.

I'm not making nothing about me, and I'm talking about being accused of being white because I disagree with the way some blacks people act who make it bad for all of us. My post keep being misinterpreted as a sob story when that's not even my intentions I'm just pointing out my experience around ignorant blacks. Here's many blacks like myself who want to better themselves in society but overshadowed by the dumb ****s who don't care about nothing.
What the hell does that have to do with a three year old boy being the target of racial insults though?again, just wanted to make this about you. There are plenty of educated blacks, but if you feel so strongly about the plight of urban youth, there are many organizations you can join to help them. Instead of derailing this thread with your self absorbed opinions.
Being that I'm black and grew up in hood areas of New Orleans I can admit a lot of blacks act the way they're viewed, so until they change the idiocy they can't really feel victimized in anyway because they bring it upon themselves. I was teased and called a nerd in middle school because I used to read and write instead of playing and acting a fool like the rest. That caused me to care less about getting an education and I became lazy and chose not to do work as serious as I used to. But because I'm a very smart person I went straight through college and got a bachelors degree even though I was a slacker throughout the years.
Lol. Which middle school did you go to in New Orleans?

This has nothing to do with the 3 year old I was clearly responding to this.

And @ the people suggesting some ludicrous hypothetical situation where the racist kills himself because of the (deserved) backlash. Yet none of yall even considered equally realistic hypothetical of the child victim killing himself one day because of this kind of racism. Black kids are told every damn day that they are less than, that they are monkeys and that they are inferior to white people.
Definitely shows where some of your priorities lie. Y'all try so damn hard to apologize for white offenders and never even stop to think about the more legitimate effect this could have on the victim.
I'm 27. I went to Gregory. Let me not get off topic, tho.
Wall post but yeah, I'm not trying to make this discussion about me. I hate to see blacks treated badly and in no way feeling superior over them. I feel all races should be treated equally because in my eyes color should not exist. I've already said all of the commentators should be punished for those words, but it seems I'm so hated on ATRL that I will always be treated with disrespect but whatever. I give up.

Don't give up This topic is important so although it sucks at some moments its something that should be discussed
True and to the other poster telling me to help out with the problem, I'm in the process of getting a job to help kids less fortunate in the city.
Cool, I'm studying to become a teacher at the moment, and although I may not be teaching in an urban school in the future, topics like these are extremely important to me as a future educator.
I think he deleted his post (and possibly his profile).
I have mixed feelings about the letter, especially when he basically implied that him and his friends should have gotten away with making those comments because there are bigger things to worry about. It's like he tried to act morally superior, in a "Shame on you for calling me out for being a racist when these other things are happening in our world."

Yeah I didn't like his letter much at all. Pretty much said "Why are we getting in trouble when we shouldnt?". Mess he made it worse for himself, but hopefully this is a good learning experience for these idiots.
Also, LOL at this part: "seeing as there is no shred of evidence that Gerod ever said anything overtly racist, I have no doubt that he is in an easy place to file charges against anyone who has publicly and explicitly referred to him as racist (thus defaming his character/reputation and committing libel). Whether he chooses to do so is up to him."
So it's apparently okay to defame the character of a 3 year old character by referring to him a slave, "feral", and needing a master's permission in order to eat, but if you call out a man and a group of people for making racist comments, you are "defaming his character/reputation and committing libel" and we're going to threaten to press charges.
What a dumb guy. The nerve to try to turn it around and threaten people.
