News: Man fired after posting racist cmts about a co-worker’s son

I'm cringing at the responses here talking about "humor" and that it was just in bad taste to put it up on Facebook. Because it's acceptable to do it privately with your friends instead? 
And the funny thing is that these same people are the ones whining "why do you always make things about race" yet they're the ones always making race an issue.

Walmart's willingness to invest so much money in their reputation shows how important it is. It doesn't really matter what you think, they have the financial numbers and they happen to think having a good reputation is necessary.

Minorities can't be racist towards white people. They can be prejudiced towards them. White people aren't victims of racial inequalities, nor are they systematically oppressed in any way, shape, or form.
White people and uncle tom's need to fight their inherit nature of trying to be a victim in every possible situation they can be. It's literally beyond trite.

And of course white people are sitting around making up nonsensical, derailing arguments that have NOTHING to do with a white man posting a picture of an innocent black boy on FB just to dehumanize and mock him. There is something wrong with you if your first reaction is to get defensive, as though justified anger at white people is worse than what was done to this little boy. That's such a stupid and self-absorbed reaction.
And I'm pretty sure posting pictures of children without their parents' consent is illegal as well. My mom is a teacher and they're warned about that kind of thing all the time

No business wants to be associated with racism or targeting an underage person. It doesn't matter if they only lose a hundred potential buyers or 1 million. The potential to lose customers or have a bad reputation is still there. It's just like acting rude to one customer and saying "well, it's just one customer, why fire him over that when we have many other customers?".
