It is literally one of the safest and blandest albums I have ever listened to in my entire life. The lyrics are the same old **** about breakups and relationships that you hear in every album made especially for teenage girls. The instrumentals are completely dull and unimaginative. I don't even think "Style" is that good, like all other songs on this album it's just there for me.

So can someone here please explain to me why do a lot of people on this site seem to think 1989 is one of the best albums of all time?

What's wrong with making safe music? Taylor made some of the best music of 2014, generic or not. Her songs are well-written, well-produced and catchy. I honestly think that a safe but good album is much better than a risky but unlistenable record.

It's very safe and very vanilla but nonetheless very solid pop album. It makes for easy listening and most of its track have great replay value.

I agree. Her vocal performance throughout the album is nothing to be proud of either. Unlistenable

It's not one of the best of all time, that's just typical ATRL exaggeration. It's just a very good pure pop album with broad appeal. A refreshing release following Bangerz, Prism, ARTPOP, BEYONCÉ, My Everything, etc.
