Celebs Pick Their VMA Favorites
It's going to be an epic face-off come Sunday, when pop's new disco princess, Lady Gaga, squares off against pop's reigning R&B diva, Beyoncé, at the 2009 Video Music Awards. And with nine nominations each, these ladies certainly have enough chances to usurp the other's throne.
We have to wait a few more days to see who will emerge victorious, but celebrities of all sorts are weighing in on whether the lady behind "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" or "Poker Face" will rack up more Moonmen.
Aubrey O'Day placed her bets on the Queen B. "My preference is Beyoncé," she told MTV News.
Meanwhile, Gaga's number one fan and friend, gossip blogger Perez Hilton, seems pretty sure she will beat Beyoncé, or at least make a bigger splash onstage at Radio City Music Hall. "I think without a doubt Gaga's going to be the big star of the night," he said.
But VMA house-bandmember Wale thinks experience will give B an edge over Gaga. "I think the queen might get her this time," he said. "[Gaga's] a newbie still."
Colbie Caillat is definitely on team Beyoncé too. "I think that Beyoncé is just an amazing artist," she said.
Ashlee Simpson is rooting for the "Poker Face" singer, noting, "I gotta say, Lady Gaga's videos are pretty badass."
As Perez pointed out, it ain't over until the fat lady sings. "Neither one of them has it in the bag," he said. We'd like to offer a more positive spin on that sentiment: Who's to say they can't both be winners?

Keep it cute, sis.
He has said his fair share of negative things about Britney. Remember when he said "Gimme More" was a flop? He got to be on the opening video for her tour. That's why he's been so nice lately.
