I really like Demi and don't think her material is horrible this era but I do see where they're coming from. Her image this era has come off really forced and calculated. It's like her and her team studied all of the successful pop girl's eras and tried to mash them together and pass it off as something new and captivating.
She needs to go back to the drawing board and focus on the music and stop grasping for hits. Her best material and era will come when she lets it naturally happen. Confident feels like an overtly-sexual version of the DEMI era, so far, in my opinion.
