Beyonces more comparable to Madonna because of the sheer magnitude of her relevance, popularity, and influence on the masses. Shes worshipped in a similar fashion as Madonna and easily as respected. Albeit, she doesn't have as many continuous hits to her name as M and Rih, but still.
I prefer Rihanna hands down, but in all honesty she is more like fast food pop/celebrity and lets just be real. Madonna is anything but fast food, well...aside from her last 3 albums. Rihannas more like...idk...but shes not Madonna-esque.
