He's an engineer and more of a science advocate. He was a science performer at my job (back before I was born) and he gradually made it into a career, continuing it into advocacy through things like the Planetary Society, etc.

But, no, he's not a scientist.

I'm a field biologist and I collect data from the wild/research/publish. He does not do any of these things but everything he says is legit and I still love him. His name was more for his brand since it rhymed and his target audience was children. I mean, how are you going to explain credible science advocate to elementary children?

I am a computer scientist but I don't go around talking about biology as if I was an expert in the field. He does not even have a masters degree in his actual field but injects himself in topics he has no expertise in constantly.
