There are also concepts like:
- democracy is not tyranny of the majority
- my freedom ends where your freedom begins
Trying to impose their religion in laws, smells like the state-approved religion. If they fully understand what that means, they wouldn't like it. It's easy for them to think that what they want, is the majority and will be a convenient fact of life. However if another christian faction or faction of another religion is the majority, it means conversion.
