"The Fame alone" Lol, you do realize you can't prove that right? there's a deluxe version of The Fame with the TFM tracks which boosted its sales.
October 2009:
US:
16 19 Lady GaGa - The fame 20.826 -5% 21.825 1.559.290
Mediatraffic:
4,010,000
This was before the re-release. I'm not trying to say that TFM's sales are not impressive but lettuce not lie, sweetie. The re-release (well basically 2 albums combined) helped a lot.

hmm selling like 1989 in an era where "sales are dying" is very impressive
so 1989
and Im sure it will take some Grammys
and the tour has sold out every show so far

And you won't know how much would TF would've without the re-release either so your whole argument is invalid
This thread is asking which era is bigger:
TFM sold more albums, more singles, bigger tour (so far), more records OVERALL, bigger impact, etc..
Stop trolling

More adults listen to Taylor than they do Gaga, stats show. Gaga is undeniably the more teen oriented act, her music has little to no appeal to older adults.

Stop.
The singles from TFM were every bit as digestible as 1989. Although great, there is nothing sonically edgy about "Bad Romance," "Alejandro," etc.

Since it was at #55 in the UK, for example, not that much.

These two eras are almost the same. For example: Gaga broke YT records with Bad Romance, back in 2009/2010, and now Taylor has Blank Space, the most viewed female video ever. Both sold milions of albums and both were on their peaks.
|
Gaga had the MOST viewed video on the internet, period.
Taylor is like 3rd at the peak of streaming.
Not comparable.

So you admit this is all predicated on a technicality? Comparing an "era" that is actually two wrapped up into one with that of 1989?

Gaga literally just released a jazz album, i'm pretty sure taylors pop music is more teen orientated than gagas last album
