Norwegian businessman Stein Erik Hagen, who just happens to be worth billions of dollars, just came out as gay at the age of 59.
“I realized that I was gay in adulthood,” shares Hagen. “When I was in my 20s we did not know what it was. We had heard about it, but it was not something we associated ourselves with.”
Despite never being open with others about his sexuality, the billionaire has spent years campaigning for gay rights, including investing thousands of dollars into fighting for acceptance in the church.
Hagen is reportedly worth 2.4 billion dollars, having first owned a supermarket, and now serving as the chairman for Orkla, a Norwegian conglomerate with 30,000 employees all over the world.
Well the chruchvote was this past month and it was publicly voted for an open all including church, which means it'll have to allow gay marriages or else it'll be against the democratic vote. So his money hasn't been wasted, considering him campaigning for causes such as gay weddings in the chruch actually paying off!
