"bird courses" are courses that are so easy to pass you don't even need to attend the lectures. most of the time the professor assigns readings and posts everything online. all you need to do is read the readings and study the online slides and then attend the tests and exams and you can easily get an A.
however some ppl prefer going to these courses even though they don't need to because they want to learn and experience that course to its fullest extent.
I usually attend all my courses even bird courses because I feel like it would be a wasted course. but this semester I'm considering skipping one since my schedule is already loaded and this course would be an easy A even if I don't attend every lecture.
