I saw it last night and it was a 10/10. I could have sat through another 3 hours of it! The first movie in years to make me feel like that! And Matt Damon is a dad
I watched it , nothing special tbh expected way more and was shocked that Ridley Scott would direct sich a snoozefest ....

Not two opposite view
Even if it's bad, i will go see it anyway, huge Ridley Scott fan here
I haven't seen this yet, but I already consider this to be a Gravity 2.0 meets Interstellar... I dunno! I hope that Scott could serve another masterpiece like Alien
The book is a great ride, it has science and sci-fi, plus drama, plus comedy
The movie is a nice adaptation of the book, the only Part I regret is that we dont get to know the character of Mark Watney nearly as well as in the book, because they chose to focus on some "other" stuff...
It's still worth watching
Nothing like Gravity(which was a visual spectacle but with a really really tiny story)
Nothing like Insterstellar(which was a space opera, a true scifi classic similar to some of the best of the XXth century)
This has great visuals(the photography is gorgeous) and a nice tone, it has humor and drama whenever the plot requires it...
I'm reading the book right now! But this is such a good score, I don't want to wait 2 weeks to see it
I'm in London right now, I think I'll see it while I'm here
It's a great film, but tbh Gravity and Interstellar >>>>>>. It's still a 10/10 for me but it never really stuck in my head a few days after watching it unlike those two.
I kinda hate the fact that they took Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain for the movie, i love both but i'm gonna be thinking of "Interstellar" while watching the movie, it's distracting.
Why couldn't they think of other actors? Anyway i heard Matt is really great in this, so let's not complain for nothing.
Nah, this is all media propaganda. I don't believe "The Martian" hype for one second.
...Vin
Believe me, I watched it last week .... One couple, that was sitting infront of me left through the middle of the film. I can't believe it's so high on RT .... Literally I can't find all the praise that was happening for that movie. I mean if u have watched Interstellar last year you will findbalmost the same actors in almost the same situation MINUS everything great about Interstellar
The flight to Mars is towering over the flight to Neverland as Fox’s second weekend of “The Martian” looks likely to pull in as much as $34 million, according to early Friday estimates.
Warner Bros.’ opening of “Pan” is on a much more modest trajectory with projections for $20 million, at best, during the Columbus Day weekend. The Hugh Jackman vehicle scored $650,000 at Thursday night previews in the U.S. — one quarter of the $2.5 million for “The Martian” — and was on track for an opening day in the $6 million to $7 million range.
