I'm not saying this as a buffy fan
But truly season 3 was flawless
From beginning to end

Dollhouse could be excellent, but other times it wasn't. Overall still worth watching.

Belonging is up there with the best of the Whedonverse tho.

Eliza should've done the Faith spin-off instead of Tru Calling. It would've lasted longer and been more satisfying, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure Eliza and Joss were tired of the Buffyverse and wanted to move on.

If the fights appeal to you, season 5 had the finale with Buffy fighting Glory. I think they did a great job choreographing it. The stunts actually went downhill after season 4 because they fired (?) the original stunt coordinator and double.

I think that's exactly why I liked him. The practical thing was more realistic than the fairytale thing with Angel.

I liked Anya and Xander too. She was one of the best parts of underrated season 4. I wish they had her interact more with Buffy and Riley.

I thought the episode was really unoriginal. There was some old TV series whose finale was essentially "Normal Again."

Dawn was useless, but so was Tara. She wasn't anything except Willow's girlfriend except in that season 5 episode where they had her family accuse of her being a demon or something and then in season 6 when she became Buffy's confidant.

I thought Alyson Hannigan was fine. She actually replaced Riff Regan who was the original Willow in the pilot episode because the WB thought she was miscast:

Tara had room for growth, I felt like? She was obviously never going to be super eccentric, but she did act as a really great emotional core for the show. She really exuded pathos ( which was probably the point; it turned her into a great tragic character ).

Had no idea about the original Willow though. Very interesting.

I agree. I felt she was a wasted character. Even my mom (who's a minor homophobe) used to watch it with me and said she doesn't get enough lines.

I hate the fact that 'Conversations with Dead People' is so underrated, overlooked and never included in any 'best of' lists. It's the second most amazing episode for me after 'Hush'. The whole season 7 is one of the best things Whedon ever done. It's sooooo dark just like Angel's season 4 (and they were going simultaneously).
Just remembered that crossover episode when Willow left Buffy and potential slayers and appeared in Angel.

I think season 7 is terrible, including Conversations with Dead People. The whole episode was Buffy and going back and forth with this random ex-classmate we've never met between a fight and a conversation. Previous seasons were clever mixing the supernatural story with dialogue and the plot, but this was awkward. The only episode I really enjoyed was Chosen.

Angel is a much better show overall, especially the first two seasons.

Buffy's worst season>>>Angel's best (which is the third).

CWDP is doing something different from the norm and works out beautifully.

I think Angel's first 3 seasons are flawless while Buffy only had one flawless season with the 3rd one.

Season 7 is the worst season, but it is funny because it is still good - it just isn't up to Buffy's usual standard. Plus those annoying potentials

Season 4 is underrated. Adam sucks, but aside from that the season is an organic transition from high school to life afterwards.

Season 6 gets a lot of flack for being too sad, but I love that is the dark season. I don't agree with Willow's magic use being equated with drug use, when it seemed more about Willow wanting power and control. It could have been better.

Buffy really handles the transitions in life so well. It is why I love the show so much. It is very possible to grow with the show, as I did.

I think season 6 is underrated too and I think the issue was total lack of Joss. He was good at combining real life issues with the supernatural stories properly so it was organic.

Why do some Buffy fans prefer Oz over Tara?

I never understood this some Buffy fans always claim their reason for not liking Tara is because she's boring. Ummm Oz is boring too? He shows no personality on the show at all. At least Tara never cheated on Willow with a skank like Veruka. Oz is as boring as Coop in Charmed Season 8

I'm currently on season 2 in Netflix. And wow the show is amazing. I used to only catch bits and pieces of the show on tv back then. This is my first run through of it in completion and in enjoying it so much.
