Miley. I feel like she has a very hands on approach with her music these days. It's also interesting to note she co-wrote all songs on Breakout & Can't Be Tamed. Very few Hollywood Records artists (are allowed to?) write their songs I think.
Demi seems to have control too, but I feel like she's just going along with whatever is relevant at the time. (not a bad thing though, I love the songs from Confident so far)

I honestly don't think she does anything in regards to what her musical output is like, but I obviously don't know what goes on. It just comes across that way to me.
