Discussion: Should DC's sales be counted towards Beyonce's? - Page 7

After thinking about it for a while and after I listened to the majority of DCs discography I came to the conclusion that DCs sales should be counted towards Beyoncé's total.

She was really the main star of that group and DC is a huge part of her career, so if someone compares her career to other artists they should include DC.

No. The group was marketed as "Destiny's Child", not "Beyonce and Destiny's Child".

And it's for the same reason I already mentioned. Her sales are separated as they are billed as two different acts, but when gauging things that point to the total of her career legacy, everything Bey has done in her career counts. Just like with anyone else that had success in and outside of a group -- Michael Jackson with the Jackson 5/The Jacksons, Paul McCartney with The Beatles/Wings, Justin with NSYNC -- but it's such a huge problem when it's noted that DC is a part of Bey's career and overall legacy, why? The general majority of Bey's fans do separate the sales, but legacy/career is different and is treated as such by more than just her fans.

This they are saying that from a regular person perspective and not from a business and more importantly music business perspective.

They are known as acts...and separate acts at that commanding different sponsorship, fee appearances and salaries.

I just don't see Gwen stefani, Timberlake, MJ, etc. trying to pass their solo and group combined because they disagree with billboard/riaa and most other outlets.

It's not enough to say they slayed in their groups and did well in their solo.

Well Billboard/RIAA >>>> stans that want to combine two acts in the music industry as one.
