21. The Foo Fighters won five Grammys that night and had a ton of clout too. Did they win? Nope. And they had the rock voters, which are a larger branch than hip hop. Adele was up against three other nominees that were in her field and she didn't split with any of them to give Foo the upper hand. Let's forget that Kanye's attitude is a turn off to most voters outside of hip hop and that's why he doesn't win any big awards.
Let's think realistically here,
21 was the album of the year for those voters, whether people liked it or not.
