It's a nonprofit health clinic that provides health services like cancer screening, contraception, HIV testing, etc. It's a huge lifesaver for people who are otherwise unable to get these services. About a third of their funding comes from the government.
One of our political parties here in the US (Republicans) is trying to take our funding of Planned Parenthood out of the budget because they provide abortions and donate fetal tissue for research. So consequently, there's an outpour of support for this organization.
