Nnn that's like casting Beyonce to play Britney Spears and saying, "they both are blonde, close enough! "

Exactly. Which is the only thing that matters. Close enough, to be believable. I'm sure many South Asians have no problem playing Middle Eastern if it go them a paycheck. Why make things harder for them?

Exactly what? So basically as long as average Americans are ignorant and believe it to be true because of their false perception, it's acceptable? With that logic, Indian actors should play black characters too! In fact, many Americans thought Mindy Kaling was black on The Office. Maybe she should play Michelle Obama in a biopic. It would be more convincing than playing the Syrian first lady.
And for the last time, it's not close enough at all. Anyone with functioning eyes can see the difference on the last page. If it were so close, why can the Middle Eastern person pass as white, but not the South Asian? In other words, your claim is illogical. It's only believable because mainstream Americans are uneducated about what Middle Eastern people look like and imagine an Indian person, including yourself.
That's the reason you're so passionately arguing this. You really take pride in your ignorance.
As for South Asian actors not having a problem with it, most of them do, but when you're desperate, you don't have many options. If you're so worried about making things hard for people, why are you advocating Hollywood perpetuation of stereotypes? South Asians get side eyed or even attacked for being "Middle Eastern" while actual Arabs, Jews, Turks, etc. pass as white or "Latino."
