FOX gives Pitbull his own TV series + 2nd Vegas residency
Not compromising his brand for something goofy like ABC Family, FOX is developing an hour-long drama series called '305', inspired by Pitbull and his home town. This follows his guest role in this season of 'Empire' and other FOX appearances planned, as part of his talent holding agreement with the network.

Fox is developing a drama series about the wealthy community in Miami from writer Sascha Penn and exec producer Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull.
Jonathan Levine will direct the project, which will follow teenage Willy as he transfers into the nicest private school in Miami and moves in with his uncle, a celebrity chef. The series, for which Fox bought the script with a penalty, hails from Endemol Shine Studios with EVP Jeremy Gold overseeing the project. David Ortiz is a co exec producer.
Outside from TV, music sensation Pitbull is Miami’s unofficial pop music ambassador, known by the moniker “Mr. 305,” the city’s area code.

Pitbull pointed out on opening night Wednesday that he is "the only artist-slash-rapper to ever get a residency in Vegas." For now, though, it's a limited run in the Axis at Planet Hollywood, with six more shows between Friday and Oct. 7.

But the live show sometimes manages to minimize the "Oz face" use of video-screen co-stars, such as Marc Anthony on "Rain Over Me" and Christina Aguilera on "Feel This Moment." They were balanced by times we would hear the piped-in singing without the visuals of the co-stars.
This was announced before Nicki's sitcom, it's just nobody posted it on ATRL. And the idea has been in development for a few months - Pitbull entered a partnership with Endemol over the concept ages ago. It just wasn't officially announced for FOX until last week.
