I've had my cell phone for over a year now and I got the my SD card was removed notification. Why would I get this notifcation? I've never gotten it before.

It usually means your SD card is going to die. I would backup your data ASAP. Try removing it and putting it back too, maybe that fixes it. This has happened twice to me. Phone kept spamming "SD card was removed" notification randomly and after like 1-2 months the SD card stopped working completely and I lost all my stuff. It only happened on my Samsung phones so I always think it's something with them.

Take out your SD card from phone and just leave it. Later, put card back into phone and see does it work.
Or try another SD card to be sure that your phone is okay...
